TIME! It really is the key to getting and staying fit on the inside and out. To manage our stress and health and focus on our purpose in life, it requires organization and be a good steward of our time to actually do it.
Let's talk about how to use our time wisely to get fit on the inside and out.
Fit on the Inside
Do you struggle to find time to focus on what God may be placing in your heart to do? Sometimes, we are so busy trying to do so many "good things", it keeps us from doingthe "one thing" He has for us to do.
I recently heard Pricilla Shrier (one of my favorites of all time) say, “Satan does not try to get us to do bad things. He wants us to do the "almost right thing."
Meditate on that for a moment. So what should we do? For starters, spend time with our Heavenly Father every day.
I have learned that when I give Him my undivided attention, He shows me a few things.
- Where my time should be spent each day
- How my time can best be used for His purpose
- How I can use my time to take care of my physical and spiritual fitness
Jeremiah 29:11-13 says, NIV
“For I know the plan I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plan to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:11 is a verse we hear quite often that gives us hope that God has created us for a purpose. However, the last verse tells us how we can find that purpose…….. when we SEEK HIM. God wants time with us with no distraction.
What things in your life might you need to delegate or let go of at this time in your life so you can get organized and have time for the dream you feel God has for you?
Fit on the Outside
Time is the biggest obstacle I hear from women who want to eat healthy. Let’s be honest… trying to plan healthy meals and snacks can sometimes be aggravating. Things get so busy that it does not seem possible to have any control over what we will eat for our next meal.
Right when we think we have our healthy eating habits together, our schedule and life change. All of those outside factors may leave feelings of powerless with no control over the next meal
First and most important. It must become a priority. Getting adequate amounts of vitamins and nutrients for my family and me is very important. I know I will eat healthier and get to spend better time with family when meals and snacks are prepared at home. However, eating healthy does not just happen and it is hard to do with a crazy schedule. As with anything in life worth having, planning and organization is the key.
Here is one trick to get organized and find time to eat healthy:
Plan your upcoming meals and snacks on a day with the least amount of stress or responsibilities.
Sounds simple, but we can’t wait to figure out what we are going to eat during a busy day with a long “to do” list and who knows what other things could pop up.
Once you pick your day, begin putting together your strategies for your meals to be the most time efficient, yet healthy. Forget about running around trying to figure out what to eat. GET ORGANIZED FIRST! Choose your day with minimal stress to actually plan. The more you do it, the easier it will become.
May we start our day with time with the Lord each day so He can speak to us on where and how to use our time wisely. Let's be good stewards with our time and get fit inside and out
