You've heard of girls night out, but what about girls day in?! Austin Beauty Guide invites you to get pampered and do a little shopping with your girlfriends at this Sunday's Beauty Lounge. Don't you deserve it? Created Woman Magazine was excited to get in on the action and tell you how you can get refreshed and rejuvenated. Oh yeah, did I mention that CW Magazine will be on site? Participants will be able to get the March/April Spring Fashion/Naturally Beautiful issue for just $5...yep, we'll be there.
Here's the scoop straight from Founder/Director Meredith Davis:
What is Austin Beauty Week?
Austin Beauty Week is a bi-annual, weeklong celebration of beauty & wellness in Austin. It celebrates the various beauty & wellness businesses in the city by promoting their products & services, while giving consumers a chance to enjoy full-service treatments at a discounted price. Who doesn't want to be pampered for less?
How do participants benefit from being a part and what can they expect?
There are several events that happen during Austin Beauty Week, so guests can enjoy all the various beauty events with their girlfriends. Plus, they can try a new treatment or enjoy various beauty services at a discount. Services range from facials, massage, nails, tanning, hair, lashes, etc.
What about the sponsors, what’s in it for them?
The businesses that participate get promoted along with Beauty Week and get all their information + their discounted services listed on the website. They are promoted as an official participating business and get exposure in front of thousands of Austinites. The goal is to turn the consumers into new customers for them.
What’s the future of Austin Beauty Week and how do you see it changing from year to year?
I see Austin Beauty Week growing into larger events. We already have plans to launch a beauty & wellness expo that encompasses several educational elements + lots of mini services & treatments being provided. Women love to treat themselves and be pampered, so I am trying to expand on that and find various ways to provide more of this to consumers. I also foresee Beauty Week happening in other cities.
In your opinion, for a first time participant, what should we not miss and why?
The Austin Beauty Week Kickoff Party + Salon Showcase was an awesome event! I would now recommend the Austin Beauty Week Beauty Lounge event, happening this Sunday, April 7th from 11am - 3pm at the Aloft Hotel at the Domain. This event will have a pop-up yoga class, a beauty brunch buffet, champagne/mimosa bar, mini services & treatments, a doc talk Q&A, and more!
Your best beauty tip you’ve learned over the years.
One of the best tips I've learned (and given out recently) is for hair. My hair is naturally super straight, but I've finally learned the key to creating volume and curl....and that's a volume spray and/or a volume shampoo & conditioner. Volume sprays work wonders for lift and for holding curl. Just spritz it on while your hair is damp and blow dry it out, then curl. I don't even need or use hair spray anymore! My hair has looked the most amazing since finding these products. My favorites are the Kerastase Volumactive spray, the Bed Head Totally Baked Voluminizing mousse, and the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray, which is great for creating texture.
