Editor's Note - Where No One Has Gone Before!

July 4th brings celebration, fireworks, waterworks, barbeque and lots of red, white and blue.  It’s the time of year where families and friends celebrate where we’ve been and where we’re going.  How amazing it is that we have the privilege to live in a land where there is so much freedom!  Freedom we sometimes take for granted during election season, which can usher in so many different emotions, conflict and division.  Nonetheless, no matter what your political stand, we live in the best country in the world; a place where we can express our thoughts, pursue our dreams and wear want we want - except in restaurants,  “No shoes, no shirt, no service.” This July, as we celebrate the month of freedom, Created Woman celebrates the freedom we have to pursue a dream we’ve had since its birth.  The CW family is excited to announce the launch of Created Woman Magazine premiering in August 2012 during Austin’s Fashion Week.  The road to get here has been an exciting one with many twists and turns, but the journey has been no less than a pleasure all because of you, our readers!

With our first photo shoot behind us and many more ahead, our thanks goes out to the many people who helped us along the way; the writers, readers, make up artist, hair stylist, photographers, editors, stylists, web and graphic designers and wonderful boutiques that made it all possible.  We can’t wait to share with you more fashion, more inspiring stories of women becoming who they were created to be, creative ways to live a healthy life and much, much more!    We invite you to come with us, because where we’re going, no one has gone before!

Thanks for being a part of Created Woman and we hope you enjoy Created Woman Magazine!

Editor's Note: The Secret's Revealed - What's Hot

With the toss of graduation caps all across America from Kindergarten students to seniors and beyond, Summer officially kicks off.  2011 marked one of the hottest summers ever in Austin with scorching weather reaching triple digits for an unprecedented stretch leaving the doubters to ponder if there really is something to this ‘thing’ called Global Warming.  With last year’s sunburn still embedded in our memory, we change out our pumps for sandals and flip flops armored for battle with our sunscreen, favorite poolside drink and fashionable hat that does double duty!  It’s the time of year after all the hard studying and work projects come to the an end, we leave behind spring fever that tormented some of us in the spring months, PTA meetings, cramming for finals and the ever changing weather forecast for a more familiar, or more predictable territory; SUMMER! No matter where you go, summer is summer; kids are laughing playing in the streets, families are vacationing, sundresses sashay across the streets and mall windows beam with color.  It’s a season where you can actually hear the snores of your neighbor as they spend a lazy day in the backyard catching some rays or enjoying the shade while listening to the summer anthem of all time ‘Summertime.”

This summer I hope is no different! May it be one that you remember fondly spending time with all the people you love making it a time to remember!  We hope as we spend the summer with you at Created Woman sharing “What’s Hot” in summer snacks, fashion, fitness and more, you take many moments to refresh, relax and renew enjoying the simple pleasures of summer!

Editor's Note, October 2011

Life experiences, trials and joy lead us to be the woman we are today and sometimes that woman is exactly who we were created to be.  Our experiences mold us, inspire us; some teach us about priorities by showing us what things we should do today and which ones we should wait on.  With life pulling us in so many directions and opportunities, it’s easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle, loosing ourselves in the  routine of life, never stopping to smell the roses.  We miss the good things in life often because of our task at hand.  Lots of times, we miss the opportunity to help someone who needs exactly what we have by simply not lifting our heads from our blackberry.  But sometimes, as women, we band together shouting with one voice yelling, ‘Enough is enough.’  And when we do that, the world listens! Women around the world have yelled loudly for the cause of Breast Cancer and the results have been astounding.  The month of October is nationally known as Breast Cancer Awareness month and I can’t think of a better theme for Created Woman Blogazine for the month October.  As women, we are poised to be each other’s cheerleaders – not the enemy.  So as we look out into the first cool month of the year, I charge each of you to be the cheerleader in someone’s life that is facing, not just breast cancer, but any type of cancer that has tried to consume their life.

For the October issue of Created Woman, we will hear stories of triumph over trials as well as re-visit some heroines from last year and catch up with what they are doing today.  Their personal stories of conquest will inspire you to go beyond what you ever thought you could achieve.  Plus, just as fashion makes everything look better, we’ll show you ways fashion can actually help fight the cause.

As much as we enjoy sharing our life with you, hearing your stories are just as important to us.  Your comments and emails allow us to have a conversation with you, our friends.  Tell us what you’re thinking, share what inspires you, how you are becoming the woman you were created to be!

Thank you as always, for being a part of the Created Woman Blogazine, and enjoy becoming and being the woman you were created to be!
