Vision

‘Becoming the Woman you were created you to be, both inside and out’

Created Woman is a fashion blog that highlights family, health, fun and purposeful living. There is something for everyone.  Fashion is the catalyst intended to carry the message that inspires women to fully express who they were truly created to be.

Ps. 139: 13-16 (Message) Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. 
 I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! 
 Body and soul, I am marvelously made! 
 I worship in adoration—what a creation! 
You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.   Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, 
The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

Created Woman

Every Woman has been created with a purpose!  When we live out the purpose we were so skillfully designed for, life becomes so much more fun and enjoyable!  As life becomes so much more beautiful, we begin to find pleasure in the simple things in life too, like a great dinner with a girlfriend, a cup of coffee or a great book.  It’s in those simple moments in life when we realize just how much we have been given, the desire begins to grow within us to give the same opportunity back to the world around us.  No longer are we able to just enjoy the simple pleasures, but to empower others to reach their full potential begins to overwhelm us as well!

When we realize who we were created to be, we begin to have fun showing it on the outside too!  Fashion becomes a creative expression on the outside of who we are on the inside – plus, it’s a lot of fun shopping too!  As women full of life, we take better care of our bodies and souls, celebrate the women around us, enjoy all the opportunities the world has to offer all the while continuing to take pleasure in the simple joys of life like a great outdoor concert!

Being a Created Woman touches every single part of the world you live in!  Living out your full potential in every stage of your life whether you’re a teenager, college student, single woman or mom, married with children, career woman or grandmother, your life will leave a legacy!

Created Woman’s Purpose

Every woman has been fashioned with a life message and it is the Created Woman’s desire to provide a platform for others to express their own personal life’s message.

Through our life’s message, we will intertwine our fashion story, which reflects whom we were created to be both inside and out.

Heather’s story

Fashion has always been a big part of my life even as a little girl.  I used to tell my parents that once I got my degree in Fashion Merchandising I would be moving to New York City to work as a buyer in the fashion industry. Then, finally after earning my degree in fashion, I moved to Austin, TX and began working as a retail manager at a high-end department store with the hopes of working my way to NYC to fulfill my dreams.

But in 2003, God began to reveal that He had a different plan; one that I didn’t quite understand at the time.  He totally took me out of fashion and thrust me into full time Ministry working at my church with the Creative Arts Department as Service Coordinator and Dance director.  It was a walk of faith at first to say the least!  Now, as I still enjoy working with my church family as Communications Director I know that God planted me there for a purpose as He began revealing gifts and talents within me that I never knew I had.

It was there at Shoreline Church in Austin, TX that a passion for the women, especially for the single women, grew inside of me.  I began to take notice and understand that God really did have a plan and a purpose for every  woman – both married and single!

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So many women around me were living out their purpose with passion!  However, as I looked closer, I noticed, too, that there were some who were still waiting on their purpose to begin including myself. So as I continued to pray, God began to reveal that it is up to us sometimes to take a step of faith into our purpose, it won’t always just fall into our laps!  At the same time, the passion I had for fashion once before began to trickle back into my heart.   As God began showing me how to merge both passions in my life, Created Woman began to take shape!

Eph 2:10(Message) – He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

Eph 4:24(Message)…..take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. (Both inside and out)

With these two scriptures in hand, the plan for CW began to further unfold.  Created Woman would be a platform for women to share their life’s stories and experiences as they encouraged others to discover their own identity.  Created Woman would also provide a sort of one stop shopping experience, too!   At CW, women would be able to find tips on staying healthy, fashion advice, where to shop, great recipe ideas and along the way, discover the simple pleasures in life too!

It’s been an incredible journey one that I pray spurs you on to embark on your own journey of discovering who God created you to be too, both inside and out!
